Did about 50 miles on the parkway Saturday (was gonna go all the way to Mt. Mitchell, but at about 5200 feet, it started getting *cold*--woulda been no problem if I'd had some gloves) then another 60 on some other mountain roads around Asheville. Still got a "ghost patch" of tread in the center of the rear tire (the front tire's fine). The Metzeler rear should be in when I get back from vacation next week (trailering the bike again, to Va. this time). The sucker's damned expensive, but maybe it'll last awhile.
I had a flat in my car last weekend, and that got me thinking about "what if..." on the bike, so I bought a can of that "fix-a-flat" stuff to keep in the saddlebag, just in case.
